PROJECT MANAGER Sponsoring Unit: Ministry of Defence (MoD), Rawalpindi Job Title: Project Manager Job Category: Mechanical Engineering to oversee a mega building project Department / Group: PSDP Project No 149 - NASTP (ACP) PPS: PPS-9 Location: Kamra Travel Required: Yes Level / Salary Range: Rs 306,250/- Position Type: Contractual We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (Mechanical) with qualification and relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering to oversee a mega building project. He is required to work with consultant and contractors while working with engineers and architects as needed, and keeping track of an inventory of equipment and materials. The Project Manager shall have long experience in management of building projects involving mechanical components and be knowledgeable of regulations and permits required. The ideal applicant will be highly organized, with the ability to plan ahead and multitask in order to meet deadlines and keep projects under budget. Job Description 1. The Project Manager will be responsible to Project Director for the following: (a) Oversee projects from beginning till end involving inputs both during planning and design as well as execution phase. (b) Identify risks/ issues/ bottlenecks that are likely to affect the Project during project life-cycle and submit cost and time effective solutions. (c) Collaborate with consultant, Contractors and key team members of the project team. (d) Manage the budget and estimate costs. (e) Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed. (f) Ensure supplies and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule and specifications. (g) Keep track of inventory, tools and equipment. (h) Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. (i) Train and mentor construction staff. (j) Obtain the appropriate permits and licenses from authorities for construction sites. (k) Plan construction operations and ensure all deadlines are met on timely basis. (l) Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects. (m) Keep all stakeholders aware of the progress on projects and prepare progress reports regularly. (n) Handle any environmental or local community issues that may come up during a project. (o) Conduct site checks to monitor progress and quality standards. (p) Perform any other duty assigned by Project Director. Preferred Skills : (a) Experience of using formal project management approaches / tools (Primavera, MS Project, etc) (b) Strong team leadership, project planning for results, strategic thinking, relationship-building skills required and reflected through experience and candidate’s references. (c) Innovative thinking that leads to practical, effective delivery strategies (grants management, technical trainings, etc.) to accomplish project activities, outputs, outcomes, and project impact. (d) Senior level supervisory and evaluation skills of professional and support staff. (e) Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and related software applications. (f) Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines. Qualification / Experience M.Sc Mechanical Engineering with more than 15 years relevant experience or B.Sc Mechanical Engineering with more than 20 years relevant experience. Max Age Limit 40+5 years (General Age Relaxation will be admissible as per rules of the GoP). Additional Notes (a) The hired employee will undergo a 2‐3 months training period during which the employee will be on probation. The final appointment will be confirmed after completion of the training period.
